I suspected Eurojank, I received Euroexcellence.

A character's appearance doesn't affect their performance in combat, and you can change in the settings whether you'd like your party members to keep their customized outfits during all but the most important cutscenes. Here's how to find every outfit in the game so you can slay off the battlefield as well.

We're still exploring the world of Clair Obscur and finding new outfits that were previously hidden, and will update this guide as we discover more. If you think we've missed any, let us know in the comments below!

Where To Find Merchants Who Sell Outfits

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Clothing And Hairstyle Location Guide (2)

Many of the outfits and hairstyles in Clair Obscur are sold by Gestral Merchants that you'll meet in your travels.

Artist (Lune), Artist (Maelle), Artist (Sciel)

After leaving Flying Waters, go west on the Continent Map to find the merchant Blabary and buy these styles.

Lumiere Suit (Gustave), Lumiere (Maelle), Short Hair (Gustave)

Gustave and Maelle's civilian clothes from the prologue can be purchased from Carrabi after you emerge from Flying Waters. He's on the beach southeast of the red forest where the Ancient Sanctuary can be found.

Sakapatate (Sciel)

Bought from Alexcylo in the Gestral Village, near the sign that says “Turn Back.”

Sakapatate (Maelle)

In the yard to the left of the Gestral Village Arena, challenge One-Puncho and hit him for 9,999 or more damage in a single strike. This is easiest after you complete Act 2, as you'll have access to the Painted Power Pictos.

Charming (Gustave), Curly (Gustave)

When Esquie joins you, have him smash the blue stones north of the red forest to reach the beach where you can see Jumeliba the Merchant. He has both of these hairstyles for sale. Be sure to pick up the Energizing Start Picto in the ruins across the beach from him while you’re there.

Wavy (Lune)

In Yellow Harvest, take the right-hand path when you reach the area with the ponds and statues. Go past the meadow with Expedition 38’s Journal and use the grapple point over the ledge at the far side. There, you’ll find Pinabby the Merchant, who has some curious Pictos for sale as well as this hairstyle.

Ponytail (Sciel)

When you reach the abandoned farm in Stone Wave Cliffs, follow the right-hand path and look for a small cave to crawl through. Jerijeri the Merchant is inside, with this hairstyle for sale alongside lots of supplies.

Vintage (Sciel), Twin Braids (Maelle)

At the beginning of Act 2, turn around and have Esquie take you back aross the water to the exit of Stone Wave Cliffs from the Continent Map. The Merchant Colaro is on the beach, with these hairstyles for sale.

Skirt, Lune, Vintage (Maelle), Civilian (Maelle)

Swim northwest from the island where you start Act 2 to find the Merchant Geranjo. He’s directly north of the Lost Woods on the full Continent Map.

Short Curlty (Sciel), Braid (Lune)

Swim east from the Stone Wave Cliffs to find a beach where Appla the Merchant will sell you these hairstyles.

Obscur (Maelle)

On the Forgotten Battlefield, look for a tower to the right when you come out of the trenches to the grassy area with the siege engines. Inside, climb the rope and challenge Kasumi the Merchant to a duel. If you win, you’ll be able to buy this mysterious outfit from her.

Plunging Bob (Sciel), French Bob (Sciel)

Travel west after leaving the Forgotten Battlefield. You’ll meet Pecha the Merchant along the road, who has these hairstyles for sale.

French Bob (Lune)

Before taking the path to Monoco’s Station, take a detour east through the white forest. Talk to the Merchant Strabami to buy this hairstyle.

Bun (Verso), Ponytail (Lune)

From the Gestral Beach southwest of Old Lumiere, swim south to find a shortcut back to the area between Monoco’s Station and the Forgotten Battlefied. On the way, look near the statues to the west for Blakora the Merchant, who has these hairstyles.

Skirt (Sciel)

On the way from Monoco’s Station to Old Lumiere, stick to the western side of the map to find the Merchant Carnovi in the woods, just before the area’s Bourgeon. He has a skirt for sale in Sciel’s size.

Messy Bun (Maelle), Messy Bun (Lune), Short (Sciel), Gustave’s Haircut (Verso)

After completing Old Lumiere, Esquire will be able to break through coral reefs on the Contnent Map. Use this ability to reach the shore west of the Gestral Beach near Monoco’s Station and follow the forest trail north. You’ll find the Merchant Papasso there, who has these hairstyles for sale.

Rebellious (Sciel), Half Ponytail (Lune)

Swim east from the northern exit of Old Lumiere. You'll find an island with a small beach on the north side, occupied by Rederi the Merchant. You can buy these hairstyles and a music record from them.

Pure (Verso), Double Braid (Lune)

North of the midpoint between the two Axons you need to fight in Act 2 is a small island within sight of the Paintress. Speak to the Merchant Granasori there to find these hairstyles.

Sirene (Sciel)

In Act 3, fly to the east side of Sirene’s island, where you couldn’t previously reach by sea. There’s a tall Gestral named Pearo there with this outfit for sale.

Pelerin (Verso), Danseuse (Sciel)

When you climb the train cars in Frozen Hearts, Verogo the Merchant will be waiting for you when you’re back on solid ground at the top. You can buy these pricey outfits from them.

Curly (Verso), Short White (Maelle), Double Brade (Sciel)

Look for a forest clearing northeast of The Reacher that can only be accessed from the sky. Sodasso the Merchant is there, along with a Lost Gestral, and has several hairstyles available.

Civilian (Monoco)

Visit Endless Night Sanctuary in the red jungle near the east edge of the map. Look for the tall merchant Anthonypo near the Chromatic Cruler there; he has some excellent Pictos for sale, as well as this outfit.

Simple (Verso)

Fly northwest of Visages’ Island to find the small Isle Of The Eyes. Rubiju the Merchant is just outside the entrance on the Continent Map, selling this outfit.

Pure (Monoco)

Near the southeast corner of the Continent Map, you’ll find Lucaroparfe near some half-buried, giant statues. He has Monoco’s reverse-color outfits for sale.

All Mime Hairstyle Locations

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Clothing And Hairstyle Location Guide (3)

Finding and beating Mimes lets you claim their hairstyle as a reward. They key to beating Mimes is to fill their Break Meter to get through their invisible wall. Any party can do this with the right setup, but Monoco excels at Break Attacks.

The first Mime in the game, which is an optional solo fight as Gustave in Lumiere, is bald and doesn't have a hairstyle reward.

Baguette (Gustave)

In the Grand Meadow section of Spring Meadows\, go left from the Expedition 87 flag after leaving the ruined house. Follow the trail of grapple hooks to find a Mime.

Defeating the Mime yields the Baguette clothes and hairstyle.

Baguette (Lune)

In the Ancient Sanctuary, there is a hut with a Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Clothing And Hairstyle Location Guide (4)Revive Tint Shard inside. Go around back to find a Mime, who you can defeat to get Lune’s Baguette outfit.

Braid (Sciel)

In Old Lumiere, look to the right after using the climbing anchors to ascend the wall on Right Street (Lune's path). The Mime there starts the fight with Shields, so equip Monoco with Chevaliere Piercing, which you should learn from defeating the Nevrons along the way here.

Voluminous (Lune), Voluminous (Sciel)

Swim to the red island northwest of Old Lumiere and fight the pair of Mimes there. You’ll receive these hairstyles as a reward for beating them.

Baguette (Verso)

In Visages’ Lair, follow the second path from the left (Joy) and go up the ledge near the flowery mannequins. Standing on the cliff edge across from Expedition 69’s camp is a Mime; defeat it to get Verso’s Baguette ensemble.

Sirene (Lune)

In Sirene’s Lair, look for a shadowy area on the left behind the pillars after climbing down the final rope before the Tisseur. There’s a Mime lurking there; defeat it to claim this hairstyle. The Sirene Outfit is obtained just further down the path, by defeating the Glissando down the rope from the area where you next see the Axon.

Voluminous (Maelle)

In the section of the Monolith that resembles Stone Wave Cliffs, look to the left before entering the cave with the Hexga and Obscur blocking the path. There’s a rope leading to a deep chamber; at the bottom, fight the Mime and its companions to get this hairstyle.

Short (Lune)

After visiting Verogo (see the Merchants section above), go to the edge of the cliff to the right, where a Mime is lurking among the wreckage. Defeat it to claim this hairstyle.

Baguette (Maelle)

In the second section of The Reacher (the Ladder Area), climb down the rope on the left immediately past the Expedition Flag to find a Mime with Maelle's Baguette ensembe.

Clea (Maelle)

High in the sky over the Axon Islands is the Flying Manor. From its central plaza, take the elevator to the left, then go down the rope near where you disembark. Look in the cavern nerby for another, shorter rope up to a ledge where a Mime with Clea's hairstyle is waiting.

Bald (Everyone)

In the Sunless Cliffs, take the right-hand path to find a Canvas that each character can enter solo to face a dangerous Mime. Missing a single parry means instant death, but each character that defeats the Mime gets the Bald hairstyle.

Swimsuit 2 (Lune), Swimsuit 2 (Sciel)

Win the Nomral and Strongest Beach Raft Volley minigames at the Gestral Beach northeast of the starting island.

Pure (Lune), Pure (Maelle), Pure (Sciel)

When Monoco joins the party, speak to the Grandis Fashionist in the train station. He’s the one with the red beret. Defeat him in an “eloquence battle” be choosing the most poetic (that is, longest) responses to each of his lines as each of the female members of the Expedition to get the white versions of their uniforms.

French Bob (Maelle)

Painted Me (Maelle)

Ascend to the top of The Reacher and defeat Alicia to earn this hairstyle, plus a powerful sword for Maelle called Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Clothing And Hairstyle Location Guide (9)Lithum. The battle is a one-on-one duel, so be sure that Maelle is prepared for a solo fight before approaching Alicia at the summit.

Lumiere (Monoco)

Once Esquie gains the ability to fly, go to the Flying Casino northeast of the Gestral Village. Approach the front door as Monoco and call out three times, then speak to the Gestral boarded up inside. Agree with him that the old days were better, and he’ll give you this dapper suit.

The Gestral will only speak to Monoco, so trying to approach the door as one of the human party members is a fruitless endeavor.

Swimsuit (Maelle)

From the Gestral Beach southeast of Sirene's Island, fly to the inland sea to the south to find another Gestral Beach. Climb the wall and speak to the Grandis at the top to receive this outfit.

Don't rush as you climb; wait until the next set of fireballs appears. If there's one in your column, move to avoid it. If not, move up, then wait for the next volley.

Clea (Maelle, Lune, or Sciel)

Manor Outfits

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Clothing And Hairstyle Location Guide (11)

A few outfits are hidden behind locked doors in the Manor. To find them, you'll need to enter from the correct door hidden somewhere in the world, then find the outfit in the room that you're teleported to.

Rebellious (Maelle)

The rightmost path in the Gestral Village has an area with a sign that reads, "Turn Back." Follow it to find a Manor Entrance. Activate the switches hidden around the kitchen to open a secret passage; in the second room of the passage, smash the crates blocking the crawlspace to reveal another room, then break more crates under the stairs to find this hairstayle.

Skirt (Maelle)

In Stone Wave Cliffs, you’ll descend into the caverns via a long rope toward the end. When that happens, stick to the right-hand wall. You’ll fight a mini-boss guarding another rope, which leads to a second boss guarding a Manor entrance. Inside, check the wardrobe for a new outfit.

Civilian (Verso)

At the start of Act 2, swim to the island northwest of where you start. On the northern shore, cimb the hill to the Manor entrance to reach the Library. Inside, climb to the second floor and interact with the bookshelf on the far wall. A secret passage will open, revealing a casual shirt for your newest recruit.

Painted Me (Maelle)

Go to the place called The Canvas, southwest of the Monolith. Retrieve the Dessendre Family Portrait there, and return it to the empty frame above the right-hand staircase in the Manor. This will unlock the atelier at the back of the dining room, where you can pick up the outfit next to the right-hand wall.
